Black Desert Node War Logger and Kill Map
Seer (formerly Owl Logs) is Athena's node war logger for Black Desert. It records who killed and who died during a node war, where it happened, and turns that into a kill map, per-player heatmaps and a war history your whole guild can open in a browser.
What a Black Desert node war logger records
A logger reads the combat messages your PC already receives from the game servers while a war is running. Seer saves each kill and death with the family names involved, the guild each side belongs to, the time, and the map position. After the war it uploads the result to your guild's page on Athena.
- Kill map and heatmap. Every kill and death is placed on the Black Desert world map, so officers can see where fights were won and lost instead of guessing from memory.
- Per-player kills and deaths. Each player's kills and deaths across the war, with their guild.
- War history. Each upload is a saved war you can reopen and compare with earlier wars.
- Shareable map links. Officers can share a read-only link to a war map with players.
How to install Seer
- Invite Athena to your Discord server and sign in with Discord on this site.
- Open your guild's Seer page (listed as Owl Logs until the rename lands) and download the Windows installer.
- A guild manager generates a guild token on that page. The token is shown once.
- Open Seer on the PC you play on, paste the token into Settings, and leave it running.
- Play your war. When it ends, the log uploads to your guild automatically.
Seer is a Windows app and has to run on the same PC as the game, because that is where the game's network traffic is visible.
Is a node war logger safe to use? Read this first
Seer works by reading network traffic. It does not modify game files, inject code into the game client or read the game's memory. That is a technical description, not a promise: Pearl Abyss controls the rules of the game, and we are not aware of an official statement approving or banning third-party network loggers. Every player decides for themselves whether to use one. Check the current Black Desert Terms of Service and operation policy before you do, and if you are not comfortable, Athena's scoreboard OCR gives you per-player war stats from screenshots with nothing installed.
Troubleshooting
No kills are showing up
Make sure Seer is running before the war starts and is capturing on the network adapter your game uses. If you use a VPN or have more than one network adapter, pick the correct adapter or capture on all adapters in Seer's settings.
Windows or antivirus warns about the installer
Packet-capture tools often trigger SmartScreen or antivirus prompts, especially when an installer is new or not widely downloaded. Download it only from this site, and allow it in your antivirus if you trust it.
Nothing uploaded after the war
Check that the guild token in Settings matches the one on your guild page. If a manager rotated or revoked the token, paste the new one. You can also upload a saved log file from the guild's Seer page.
Positions look off after a game patch
After a patch, packet formats can change. If kills or positions look wrong right after an update, report it with the bug report form and include the war date.

Frequently asked questions
What is Seer (formerly Owl Logs)?
Seer is the node war logger from Athena. It records kills and deaths during a Black Desert node war and uploads them to your guild page, where they appear as a kill map, heatmap and war history. It was called Owl Logs and is being renamed.
Does a Black Desert node war logger modify the game?
Seer reads network traffic only. It does not modify game files, inject into the game client or read game memory. Pearl Abyss sets the rules for the game, so every player should check the current Terms of Service and decide for themselves.
Can I get node war stats without installing a logger?
Yes. Athena reads scoreboard screenshots into per-player stats with nothing installed. It has no kill map, because screenshots do not contain positions.
Why are no kills being recorded?
Start Seer before the war, make sure it is capturing the network adapter your game uses, and pick all adapters if you use a VPN or more than one network card. Seer must run on the same PC as the game.
Run your next Node War with Project Athena
Project Athena is free. Sign in with Discord, pick a server you administer, and you can have a roster posted before your next war window opens. The documentation covers every command, and the home page is the short version.
